Tom grew up in the small town of Kohler, Wisconsin and then spent his high school years in Raleigh, North Carolina. Tom went on to earn a bachelor's degree in history from Hillsdale College in 2017. After graduation, he worked for several years in Chicago in operations management and sales with The Peninsula Hotel Group, an industry leader in luxury hospitality. 

After meeting his wife Jackie, an Effingham native, in 2019, Tom made a career switch, deciding that he would move out of Chicago to attend law school at Southern Illinois University School of Law. Tom earned his Juris Doctor degree from SIU Law and the #3 rank in his graduating class. In law school, Tom received awards for excellence in legal writing, legal research, commercial law, federal income taxation, alternative dispute resolution, trusts and estates, bankruptcy, and trial advocacy. Tom scored in the top 1% of the 2024 Illinois Uniform Bar Exam.

Tom has been practicing law in Effingham ever since his admittance to the Illinois Bar in 2024. Tom is a trial lawyer, focusing his practice in general civil litigation and criminal defense. Tom has tried various civil and criminal cases in Effingham and other surrounding counties. Tom is intelligent, conscientious, rational, and fearless, bringing those and other qualities to the table to benefit each and every one of his clients. 

Tom lives in Effingham with his wife, Jackie, and daughter, Nora.
